Author Guidelines "53rd International Colloquium on Refractories 2010"
Please submit your manuscript by e-mail (info@feuerfest-kolloquium.de) as Microsoft Word file (if not possible in RTF format).
Attention: Images and figures must send separately as TIFF or EPS files (black or grayscales). Should the quality (resolution) of the images and figures not be adequate, we reserve ourselves the right to reduce this accordingly or not to print.
Please use Times or Times New Roman for your document only!
Please read and follow the guidelines below. A template is provided on the submission site in which you can cut and paste your manuscript into before saving and uploading.
The Basics
Page Limit: |
- Papers cannot exceed 4 pages including images, tables, figures and references.

|
Margins: |
- DIN A4 PAPER (21.0 x 29.7 cm)
2.0 cm on the top and on the bottom
1.5 cm on the sides
2.0 cm on the bottom
|
Columns: |
- Each page must be separated into two columns and the columns must have a gutter space
of 0.7 cm.
- Exception: title and author information on the top of the first page.
You can cut and paste using the template provided or you may refer to MS Word template
or choose Format/Columns.
|
Font: |
- All text must be in 10-point (pt) Times or Times New Roman font.
- Exception: title text should be 12-point (see below in “Parts of Paper”).
|
Spacing: |
- All text must be single-spaced.
- Add a space before each heading or subheading.
|
Color: |
- Whether the texts nor the tables, figures or images should be colored.
- Please use only black or grayscales.
|
Parts of the paper
Title: |
- The title should be centered at the top of the page.
- Letters should all be uppercase, bold.
- Use 12-point Times or Times New Roman font.
|
Heading: |
- 10-point Times or Times New Roman font, left-aligned, all uppercase letters, (bold, no italics)
|
Subheading I: |
- 10-point Times or Times New Roman font, left-aligned, upper and lower case letters
(bold, no italics)
|
Subheading I: |
- 10-point Times or Times New Roman font, left-aligned, upper and lower case letters
(italics, no bold)
|
Author Information: |
- Please leave one blank line below the title.
- Author information should be centered.
- Use upper and lower case, 10-point Times or Times New Roman font.
- The presenter of the paper should be marked with an asterisk (*) after last name.
- The author information should contain full first and last names of the author(s).
- Names should be listed in alphabetical order as follows:
[Title] [First name] [Family name], [Title] [First name] [Family name], etc.
[Organization, City, Country]
Example:

Institute GmbH, Bonn, Germany
- Please note: a group of authors of one company/institute should name their organization,
city and country only once

Body Text: |
- Text should be 10-point Times or Times New Roman font, single-spaced
and non-bolded.
- Text alignment should be justified.
- Please do not use footnotes.

- Please edit headwords with a tab (0.5 cm) as shown in the example:

Spacing: |
- Between the last line in the author information and the first main heading, there should be one space and then one continuous section break.
- If you use the template, this is already set up for you.

Chemical Formulas: |

Illustration, tables, etc.
Figures:
|
- Figures in the text must be indicated in the form of “Fig. 1: Caption for figure 1.”
in 10-point Times or Times New Roman font and place below the figure.
- Please note the figures must be numbered in the text according to their sequence.

Tables: |
- Number tables (i.e.: “Tab. 1: Caption for table 1.”) followed by the table title
and place above the table.
|
Images: |
- All scanned image files must be saved as a TIFF file and should be 100% of the original size.
- Micrographs and other halftones should be at least 300 dpi (dots per inch)
and line art should be at least 900 dpi.
- Crop and place images in your electronic document where you want it to appear
in the paper.
|
Units: |
- The International System of Units (SI) must be used to indicate units.
|
Equations: |
- Equations should be separated from the text by one blank line above and below.
- Number equations consecutively in parentheses at the right-hand margin, in line with the last
of the equation.
|
References: |
- Number references consecutively in the text with superscript numbers [1]
and list corresponding references at the end of the paper.
- Text alignment should be justified.
- The extent should not exceed more than 10 references.

List the first six authors followed by et al. (Note: NLM now lists all authors.)
